1) Spawning is defined as the release of gametes (eggs or sperm). As we explain in the paper, we did not observe simultaneous male-female spawning or group spawning. We observed the release of sperm from one fish, eggs from another fish. But this observation allowed us to match color phase with sex, which is the first step to evaluate spawning potential in a spawning aggregation.
2) I have been diving around Goliath Groupers long enough to observe them when pooping (defecating). Goliath Grouper faeces have a very different look from what was documented by the [...]
