Please be aware that the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary intends to expand its boundaries to include more of the precious offshore bank habitat on the continental shelf edge, ~ 100 miles off the coast of Texas. The area serves as an intimate linkage between Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico coral reef ecosystems harboring some of the healthiest coral reefs in the world. It also serves an important feeding habitat for various migratory species including wahoo, tuna, marlin, manta rays, and whale sharks. [...]
