Red Lionfish (Pterois volitans)

Red lionfish are a venomous, coral reef dweller, native to the Indo-Pacific region. Lionfish have become an invasive species along the east coast of the U.S. Their venomous spines (resembling a lion's mane) make them inedible to most predators.

I recently visited the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, listed by the Travel Channel as being among the best aquariums in the United States. The aquarium educates visitors about the waters and water wildlife of the Cape Fear region.
