Dear All, The Department of Fisheries in Saint Lucia is currently reviewing their policy on spear fishing. Our current regulations requires users (primarily for individuals who depend on the activity as a livelihood) and prohibits recreational spear fishing. However, special permissions have been granted to certain stakeholders to use polespears for lionfish hunting. We are seeking literature references (within the last 10 years) on the biological considerations of the effects of spear-fishing. Thank for your help,
