Hi Don,
I am not on this list but somebody called my attention to your video on a
sponge dying in the Florida Keys.

From my experience and your description, the sponge may be Neopetrosia
subtriangularis (previously in Xestospongia), which can also live in
lagoonal environments. See www.spongeguide.org and let me know what you
think. Also search for branching sponges to see what comes up and if there
is any other that looks similar. [...]
